Our story...

Dancemind was founded by Tina Heeley, emerging from her long-standing commitment to the arts, health, and wellbeing, and her belief that creativity and movement have the power to transform lives. Tina first trained as a dancer, and over the years, her practice evolved into facilitation, producing, and community-based arts work, where she witnessed firsthand how movement could support emotional and physical well-being.

Guided by a desire to understand the deeper layers of human experience, Tina then went on to train as an Integrative Psychotherapist. Today, she weaves together her movement roots with her clinical training, bringing a uniquely embodied, holistic approach to her work. This work evolved at the intersection of arts and health, cultivating environments that encouraged movement exploration in nurturing, inclusive, and imaginative ways.

Dancemind has worked with individuals and groups across diverse settings, from care homes, community groups, and educational spaces to hospices, hospitals, and mental health charities. Witnessing the profound shifts that emerged through creative practice, it was recognised that the universal potential for healing is held within the body and the arts. This understanding has continued to deepen over the years, shaping the essence of Dancemind’s approach and enriching the experiences of all who participate.

Dancemind has since grown into a small, dedicated team that shares this ethos - practitioners and facilitators who bring expertise in dance, movement, somatic practices, arts and creativity, community engagement, and therapeutic principles. Together, they create spaces where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, express, restore, and discover themselves through the arts.

Our Team.
